Description:JOB DETAILS:Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer Job Description As a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer in the Army National Guard, you will build the skills you need for a civilian career while directly supporting the maintenance of chemical equipment and quartermaster machinery. In order to perform these functions, you will train to maintain laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, and water purification units. Your skills will contribute to maintaining special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems. Plus, the skills you learn as a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer prepare you for a lucrative civilian career in marine transportation, commercial fishing, oil exploration, and oil drilling. You will also find opportunities as a marine engine mechanic. Earn while you learn As an Army National Guard Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer, you will receive these valuable job skills while getting up to a $20,000 enlistment bonus, earning a regular paycheck, and qualifying for tuition assistance. After Basic Training, where you will learn fundamental Soldiering skills, you will attend approximately 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training that will include a combination of hands-on and classroom training where you will learn marine engine maintenance and repair, as well as internal combustion engine theory and the use and care of hand and power tools. And as your skills increase, so will your responsibilities. Advanced team members supervise and train other Soldiers within the same discipline.
