Good, because as an Operator in an The Air Defense Tactical Operations Center Operator primarily supervises or serves as a member of an early warning team. The duties of an Air Defense Tactical Operations Center Operator include detecting, tracking, and identifying aircraft; broadcasting early warning information; and performing other operations and intelligence duties in Air Defense units. Through training and practice in this specialty, you will develop technical skills and qualities that are in demand by today's employers; those qualities include leadership, discipline, and courage. And your work with computers and technological systems will put you ahead of the pack in the eyes of an employer. In the Army National Guard, you will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training for an Air Defense Tactical Operations Center Operator consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 19 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions.
